Startup Peoria is gearing up for Global Entrepreneurship Week with a host of different events. You can check out our full schedule on our calendar, but here are a few things that we are excited about:
We have partnered with Junior Achievement of Central Illinois to connect them with nine local entrepreneurs that will be speaking to over 200 high school students about their experiences in the startup community.
There are a few great resources coming up for people looking to start their own business. On Tuesday, November 17 at Bradley University, Westlake Hall 130, an Angel Investor Panel Discussion will be held for anybody that’s curious about how the Angels do their thing. Then on Wednesday, November 18, the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Bradley University will be hosting an informal, free workshop, Starting Your Business in Illinois. If you’re curious, overwhelmed, or just don’t know what you’re doing (we’ve all been there), these events will be a big help in getting you on the right track.
Good news- the application deadline for the KeyStart Pitch Competition has been extended through the weekend! So far, we have some great candidates and I’m pumped to hear them pitch their ideas. Get writing- we want to see somebody walk away with a $5,000 investment on November 19th.
Please come out and attend one or all of our events! We need you to share your own stories and solutions; these events only get better with bigger ideas.
