Kauffman Foundation Films In Peoria

Just before Thanksgiving, the Kauffman Foundation sent a couple of Kauffman Fellows to Peoria to ask some of our entrepreneurs about what it’s like to do a high growth startup in a midsize Midwestern city. It part of a short road trip film series though the American Midwest to learn about a “renewal happening in the heartland.”

Victor and Phil spent time with investor and mentor Steve Zika, Natural Fiber Welding founder Luke Haverhals, and Bump Boxes CEO Christine Deehring. I got the chance to ask Victor and Phil what kind of stuff they were finding out about Midwestern entrepreneurship. They talked about authenticity, work ethic, and a strong commitment to problem solving. Makes me proud to be Midwestern!
